Stable Melting BNi?2 Powder forConsistent Brazing

Its “special” points are not just the chemistry — they are thecombination? of low melting range, excellent flow, and serviceperformance close to stainless steel / superalloys.
1. Narrow melting range, lower brazing temperature
Solidus: 971 °C
Liquidus: 999 °C
Typical brazing temperature: 1010–1175 °C
Because the melting range is only about 30 °C, BNi-2 flowspredictably and fills capillary gaps without overheating the basemetal. It brazes below the solution-treatment temperature of manystainless steels and nickel alloys, so the parent metal does notsuffer grain growth, softening, or distortion.
Precautions When Using BNi-2 Brazing Powder
by Rite Material ? / Ruituomei New Materials
1. Keep the powder dry
BNi-2 contains boron and silicon. Moisture causes caking, oxidation, and gas porosity during brazing.
Store in sealed aluminum foil bags or drums
Humidity: keep low (≤45% RH recommended)
Never touch powder with bare hands — sweat and salts accelerateoxidation
Opened powder: reseal with desiccant or nitrogen; use soon
Caked or damp powder → do not use in the furnace
2. Clean the base metal first
BNi-2 flows beautifully — but only on clean surfaces.RiteMaterial
Why choose it
Lower boron content → less brittle phase formation, better jointductility
Wider melting range → more forgiving with larger or less-precisejoint clearances (0.05–0.15 mm)
Reduced boron penetration into base metal → less risk of base-metalembrittlement
More tolerant of minor process variations
Best for:? Wider-clearance joints, applications re morepost-braze ductility, situations where boron penetration into theparent metal is a concern, components needing thermal-fatigueresistance
BNi-2 nickel brazing powder: low melting range, superiorwettability, high-temperature strength, and reliableoxidation/corrosion resistance for stainless steel, superalloys, and diamond-tool joining.
What Makes BNi-2 Powder Special
BNi-2? is a nickel-chromium-silicon-boron-iron brazing alloy(Ni–7Cr–4.5Si–3B–3Fe, balance Ni). It is one of the most widelyused high-temperature brazing fillers in the world, compliant withAWS A5.8 BNi-2, AMS 4777, ISO 17672 Ni620, and UNS N99620. RiteMaterial
