Corrosion Resistant BNi?2 Powderfor Braze Seams

Why choose it
Lower boron content → less brittle phase formation, better jointductility
Wider melting range → more forgiving with larger or less-precisejoint clearances (0.05–0.15 mm)
Reduced boron penetration into base metal → less risk of base-metalembrittlement
More tolerant of minor process variations
Best for:? Wider-clearance joints, applications re morepost-braze ductility, situations where boron penetration into theparent metal is a concern, components needing thermal-fatigueresistance
It is not a substitute for highly corrosion-resistant alloys inaggressive chloride/service environments, but for high-temperaturestructural brazing? it is excellent.
5. Gas-atomizeduality
When produced by gas atomization, BNi-2 powder offers:
spherical / near-spherical particles
low oxygen content
uniform particle-size distribution
good flowability for paste, screen printing, automatic dosing
customizable mesh / micron sizes (-45 μm, -63 μm, -106 μm, -200mesh, -300 mesh, etc.)Rite Material
Clean parts, dry powder, correct clearance, and a controlledvacuum/protective atmosphere decide whether the joint is excellentor rejected.
Rite Material ? — Precision Powder, Reliable Bonds.
*Tips provided by Rite Material*
1. BNi?2 powder must be brazed under vacuum or high-purity inertatmosphere. Air brazing will cause severe oxidation and failedjoints.
2. Strictly control the joint clearance within 0.03–0.10 mm. Toolarge gaps easily generate brittle boride phases and reduce jointstrength.
3. Key Properties
Melting range:? Solidus 971 °C (1780 °F), Liquidus 999–1000 °C(1830–1832 °F)?
Brazing temperature:? typically 1010–1175 °C (1850–2150 °F); commonproduction range 1060–1120 °C?
Narrow melting range? → good process control, less base-metaloverheating
Excellent wettability and capillary flow? in vacuum, argon, or dryhydrogen atmospheres
High joint strength? at room and elevated temperatures
Good oxidation resistance? up to ~980 °C (1800 °F)Rite Material
