1.1x00a0;This guide covers anexample of a method that measures the changes in a population ofaerobic microorganisms within a specified sampling time whenantimicrobial test materials are present. Several options fororganism selection and growth, inoculum preparation, sampling timesand temperatures are provided. When theue is performed as aspecific test method, it is critical that the above mentionedvariables have been standardized. Antimicrobial activity ofspecific materials, as measured by thisue, may varysignificantly depending on variables selected. It is important tounderstand the limitations of invitro tests, especially comparisons of results fromtests performed with different parameters. As an example, testresults of microorganisms re growth supplements or specialincubation conditions may not be directly comparable to organismsevaluated without those stated conditions.
