FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and theworld’s largest express transportation company, celebrates 30 yearsof operations at its international gateway in Stansted. Sinceestablishing itself in 1985, the Stansted gateway has been animportant contributor in supporting UK businesses both domesticallyand across international markets.

　　Over the years, the international gateway has grown in capacity,increasing from four employees to approximately 540. Encompassing atotal area of 22,000m2, the gateway has capacity for fourwide-bodied aircraft, handles up to 7,000 packages an hour andkeeps businesses connected to more than 220 countries andterritories worldwide.

　　“Over the last three decades, our international gateway has beenvital in helping UK businesses connect to global markets andrealise their international potential,” said Trevor Hoyle, vicepresident, Operations, Northern Europe, FedEx Express. “We’re proudthat our UK operation plays such an important role, not just inEurope, but globally.”

　　Over the years, the Stansted gateway has not only helped UKbusinesses export, but has supported charitable efforts across theUK including helping children’s charity KidsOut as part of theFedEx Cares initiative. This has seen FedEx team members and theirfamilies join staff from the charity to pack and subse nearly 1,400 boxes of toys each year to disadvantagedchildren nationwide. Also, since 2003 FedEx Express has joinedforces with Motorwise, a week-long intensive Road Safety Course,which takes place in Essex, with FedEx volunteers helping educatestudents on road safety, while promoting responsible attitudestowards the use of motor vehicles.
