This standard specifies a combustion method for thedetermination of halogen and sfur contents in materials bycombustion in a closed system containing oxygen (calorimetricbomb), and the subsequent analysis of the combustion product usingdifferent analyticalues. This method is applicable tosolid, pasty and liquid samples containing more than 0,025 g/kg ofhalogen and/or 0,025 g/kg of sfur content. The limit of detectiondepends on the element, the matrix and the determination techni Insoluble halides and sphate present in the sample orproduced during the combustion step are not completely determinedby these methods.
